He came home as usual, unloaded his bag off his shoulders, took off his shoes and went to change.
But this time, he did something different. He stopped by beside his wife, and stooped down to give her a kiss. The kiss lingered for almost a minute, instead of the usual peck-and-go.
“Not just a peck”, he said with a smile. “I’m trying to do what is required of a husband and give you long deep kisses from now on.”
She smiled at him, basking from the earlier affection and at a loss for words.
