On January 7th, we converted Joshua’s cot into a toddler bed. Well, sort of anyway since we didn’t remove all the wooden grille sides.
We felt it was time for him to “graduate” to a big boy bed, and he was keen on the idea when we told him about it.
To prevent painful falls, we put a thick carpet beside his bed. If he should accidentally fall off, at least he will be protected by the cushioning.
He went to bed without fuss as usual, and promptly fell asleep. No complains, no uneasiness, nothing.
It’s been three weeks now, and there have been zero accidents. Strangely, he doesn’t even attempt to climb off his bed even though I’ve shown him exactly how to.
Now it’s so much easier for me to sit by his bed and talk/sing to him before bedtime, and my pregnant back is so thankful for it.
In all, it was an easy transition for everyone and we couldn’t be happier. 🙂
Next up we’ll probably be buying him a new toddler bed and converting this one back into a cot for Allspark’s recycled use.
