It’s already common knowledge that I love to shop. And that obsession had over the past two years mutated into an unexplained familiarity with committing the same money-spending offence online.
And I don’t know if it’s because I had somehow corrupted Hubs along the way, but that bugger has been shopping from eBay!
At first it was for practical reasons: A carseat for Joshua when he was a few months old. We don’t drive often, and decided to purchase a pre-loved carseat instead of splashing out on a brand new one that we would use no more than a few hours a month.
Then it was a limited edition Metallica merchandise for his colleague at their company’s Christmas gift exchange…
Then now it’s some Transformer toy for himself!
I dread to go to his room in the office, and see the growing collection of Aliens, Transformers and Predator collectible figures on the display shelf. (But in a way, I’m sure he baulks similarly at my growing collection of bags, shoes and maternity/nursing apparel. )
It amuses me – as much as it freaks me out – when I suggest it is time for him to replace his worn out tops, jeans, dress pants, etc and he asks me “Is GAP or Old Navy having sale now? Cheaper to buy online leh.”
My husband is… what can I say, getting bad influence from me.
